Agra is a tourist place it is suited in Uttar Pradesh, India. Agra is famous for Taj Mahal, it is one of the Seven Wonders in the world. Agra is also an industrial city.


Agra is famous for the “Mathura Oil Refinary” and the mental hospital, its is also famous for it Gajjak, leather goods & handicraft items. “PETHA” (a sweet dish that made out like pumpkin. It is very sweet and comes in yellow, orange, white and green color) and “dalmoth” is the famous in agra.

The symbol of love Taj Mahal:

Taj Mahal, architecture in the Mughal time period .The Mughal emperor Shah Jahan built the Taj mahal in 1628-1658, he was the grandson of Akbar , in the memory of his wife, Begum Arjumand Bano, entitled ‘Mumtaz Mahal’, means "Crown Palace". Mumtaz Mahal was a niece  Nur Jahan and granddaughter of Mirza Ghias Beg I’timad-ud-Daula, wazir of emperor Jehangir. Taj mahal is stuited near the Yamuna River in the garden, un shadowed by any other structure. The garden made out by Raja Man Singh and now belonged to his grand son, Raja Jai Singh. By a royal owner, Shahjahan gave the four havelis of Jai Singh in exchange for the garden. The reason was also chosen this garden is, located on a bend in the river, and so could be seen from Shahjahan’s.


The main tomb of Taj is basically covered with chamfered corners. Mehman-Khana on the eastern side  and Red sandstone mosque on the western of the tomb provides  a clear colour contrast.


Taj Mahal covers 60 bighas area. Taj Mahal was constructed over a period of 22 years, and its began in 1633 and 20,000 workers laboured. It was completed in 1648 at a cost of 32 Million Rupees. The most skilled architects, calligraphers, inlay craftsmen, stone-carvers and masons came from all over Indian like as Turkey and Persia.  The names of those worker and the inventory of construction materials are store in the document, Expert craftsmen from Delhi, Lahore, Multan and Qannauj were employed.the main mastor mason was Baghdad from Muslim craftsmen, Bukhara , and Shiraz worked on many specialized tasks.

Taj mahal is Open from Sunrise to Sunset

It closed on Friday; but opens it for prayer in the mosque between 12 Noon to 2 P.M.


Charges  to see the Taj mahal as follow:

India  Citizens and visitors of BIMSTEC Countries (Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka ,Bhutan, Myanmar and  Thailand)  and SAARC (Nepal ,Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Maldives, Pakistan, and Afghanistan) are. 10 Rs. per head.



Rs. 500/- ticket of ADA is valid for the monuments of Agra Fort, Itimadi-ud-daula, Akbar’s Tomb, Sikandara and Fatehpur Sikri Rs. 250/- per head (ASI) Rs. 500/- per head as Toll Tax (Agra Development Authority)

(children up to 15 years are free)

Agra Fort is another attraction to the city. Near the gardens of Taj Mahal the important 16th-century Mughal monument known as the Red Fort of Agra is suited. It built the red stone and the white marbel. The agra fort is also known as “Lal Qila”, Fort Rouge and Red Fort of Agra. .Agra played an important center of Mughal Empire. When Babur defeated and killed Ibrahin Lodi at Panipat in 1526.Akbar built the fort in Agra between 1565 and 1571
