Chana Dal Halwa

चना की दाल हलवा

Ingredients (सामग्री)

Chana Dal (चने की दाल) ---------- 200 gms or 1 cup

Ghee (घी) ---------- 150 gms or 3/4 cup

Sugar (चीनी) ---------- 200 gms or 1 cup

Milk (दूध) ---------- 1.5 cup

Cashewnut (काजू) ---------- 20-25

Mawa (मावा) ---------- 200 gms or 1 cup

Chopped Pistachios (बारीक कटे हुए पिस्ते) ---------- 20-25

Small Cardamom Powder (छोटी इलायची पाउडर) ---------- 5

Chopped Almond (पतले - पतले कटे हुए बादाम) ---------- 10- 12 

How to make Chana Dal Halwa (चना की दाल हलवा बनाने की विधि)

-> First clean the Chana Dal (चने की दाल) and washed it with clean water and soaked it for 4-5 hours into water. (चने की दाल धो कर पानी में भिगो कर रखे)

-> Now taken out the dal (दाल) into water (पानी). After add 1/2 cup water (पानी) + dal (दाल) into pressure cooker and cooked it. Off the gas when cooker get 1 whistle (दाल +  पानी को कुकर में पका ले और १ सीटी आने पर गैस बन्द करे)

-> After cool the Chana Dal (चने की दाल) and roughly grind it into grinder without water. (दाल ठंडी होने पर बिना पानी के पीसे)

-> Heat the Ghee (घी) in a Cauldron (कडाही). When Ghee (घी) became hot then add Chana Dal (चने की दाल) and fried it until Dal (दाल) turn to golden brown in color. After you add Mawa (मावा) and mixed it and cooked it until they gives the Smelling good. (घी + दाल को फ्राई करे)

-> Now you add Milk (दूध) +  Sugar (चीनी) + Cashewnut (काजू) + Chopped Pistachios (बारीक कटे हुए पिस्ते) + Chopped Almond (पतले - पतले कटे हुए बादाम) and cooked the Halwa (हलवा) (इसमें दूध + चीनी + काजू + पिस्ते + बादाम डाल कर पकाये)

-> Cooked the Halwa (हलवा ) until is not stickiness of the pan its mean Halwa (हलवा ) is ready. (हलवे को तब तक पकाइये जब तक हलवा कढ़ाई के किनारों से चिपकना बंद न कर दे)

-> Now off the gas and add Small Cardamom Powder (छोटी इलायची पाउडर) + some Ghee (घी) and mixed very well. (हलवे में छोटी इलायची पाउडर + घी मिलाये)

-> Your Chana Dal Halwa (चना की दाल हलवा) is ready. You can eat it hot - hot.  

Note : You also make the barfi(बर्फी). To make the barfi(बर्फी) 

-> Spread some Ghee (घी) in a plate and you also spread the mixture  into this plate. (प्लेट में घी लगा कर मिश्रण फैला दे)

-> Now press the Cashewnut (काजू) + Chopped Almond (पतले - पतले कटे हुए बादाम) into Burfi (बर्फी ) with the help of Ladle (करछुल). Keep this for 1-2 hours. (काजू को करछी की सहायता से बर्फी में दबा देते है)

-> Now you cuts its into your Favorite sized. Chana Dal barfi (चना की दाल बर्फी ) is ready.
