Bangalore Rural district has an area of 5,814sq km. Bangalore Rural District is located in the South-Eastern corner of Karnataka State . The District is bounded on the North side by Tumkur and Kolar Districts; on the South side by Mandya and Mysore Districts and Tamil Nadu State; on the east side by Kolar District and Tamil Nadu State and on the West side by Tumkur and Mandya Districts.
Main Rivers : Arkavati, the Kanva and the Dakshina pinakini (southern Pennar) are the rivers that flow in this district.
