Barpeta district is bounded by international border i.e. Bhutan Hills in the North side, Kamrup and Goalpara District in the South side , Nalbari District in the East side and Bongaigaon District in the West side. The district occupies an area of 3245 km² .
Main Rivers : Brahmaputra rivers and tributaries of these river that flows through the District are Beki, Kaldia, Palla, Nakhanda, Manah, Pohumara, Marachaulkhowa and Bhelengi flowing from North to South.
