Boudh District or Bauda District, is an administrative district of Orissa state in eastern India and Boudh city is the district headquarters.It is located on the bank of Mahanadi, the largest river of the state of Orissa.
Geography of Boudh
Boudh district lies in central Orissa, to the south of the Mahanadi River, which forms the western and northern boundary of the district. Across the Mahanadi lay the districts of Bolangir to the west, Angul to the northeast and Subarnapur to the northwest. Nayagarh District lies to the southeast side, Kalahandi District to the southwest and Phulbani District to the south side. Boudh was an important Buddhist centres in ancient Orissa. It is spread over an area of 4,289 sq km.
