Chamba is bounded on north-west side by Jammu and Kashmir, on the south-east and south side by the District Kangra of Himachal Pradesh and Gurdaspur District of the Punjab, on the north-east and east side by Ladakh area of Jammu and Kashmir state and Lahaul and Bara-Bangal area of Himachal Pradesh.

About Chamba District
Chamba is Ancient Capital of Pahari Kings situated on the bank of river Ravi at an altitude of 996 meters. Chamba has two tribal areas, Pangi and Bharmaur; and the nomadic tribes Gujjars and Gaddis inhabit some parts of Chamba District.
Chamba is famous for hand-made chappals and the most popular craft is basket making. Some of the dance forms are Dhurei, Churahi Nritya, Dandaras and Sohal Nati.
