Godda district is one of the twenty-four districts of Jharkhand state in eastern India, and Godda town is the headquarters of Godda district.Godda district falls under  Santhal  Pargana  Division  and  has   one  Sub-Division Godda

Godda district covers the 210 km² area. Godda District comprises hilly tracks, plains and vast forest lands. The eastern part from north to south is covered with forests

Longitude of Godda city :  86 ° 18’ East

About Godda District

Godda district came into existence as district of undivided Bihar on may 25, 1983 and became the 18th district of Jharkhand State

Two more mine opencast coal mine of Eastern Coalfields Limited are coming in Godda district
A. Chuperbhita opencast coal mine project
B. Hurra 'C' opencast coal mine project
