Geography of Guna
Guna district covers the 6307.70 Sq. Km area. Guna district is bounded on the northeast side by Shivpuri District, on the east side by Ashoknagar District,on the southwest side by Rajgarh District, on the west and northwest side by Jhalawar and Baran districts of Rajasthan stateand Kota District of Rajasthan and on the southeast side by Vidisha District. Shivpuri & Kota are located in north where as Vidisha, Bhopal, and Rajgarh lies to the South.

About Guna District
Initially Guna was the part of Avanti Kingdom founded by Chand Pradyota Mahesena after that on Shishusangh added the kingdom of Avant which included Guna to the growing empire of Magadha. On August 15, 2003 Guna District was split in two, with the eastern portion becoming Ashoknagar District.
Guna is famous for its 'Chanderi sarees'.
