Jamui district is bounded on North side by Munger and Lakhisarai District, on South side by Giridih District of Jharkhand, on east side by Deoghar and Banka District and West side by Nawada District.Jamui district occupies a total of 3,122.80 sq. kms.
Main Rivers : Kiul, Burnar, Sukhnar, Nagi, Nakti, Ulai and Bunbuni are the main rivers that flow in this district.

About Jamui District
On 21st February, 1991 Jamui district was formed. This place is situated on the bank of river named Ujjihuvaliya. According to Jainism the 24th Tirthankar Lord Mahavir acquired divine knowledge at this place. Jamui is one of the famous district of Bihar, which has a glorious past. Historical existence of Jamui has been observed from the Period of Mahabharta war.

Jamui district has no big industry. Traditional small-scale industries like making utensil iron gilla gates etc. The manufacturing of ‘Bidi’ is flourishing industry in Jhajha & Gidhour.
