Geography of Kamrup
Kamrup district is bounded on north side by Udalguri and Baska District, on south side by Meghalaya state, on east side by Darrang District and Kamrup Metropolitan District and on west side by Goalpara District and Nalbari District. Geographical area of Kamrup district is 4,34 ,500 ha.

Main Rivers :
Brahmaputra, Puthimari, Bornoi, Nona, Kulsi, Pagladiya, Kalajal are the main river of this district.

Latitude of Kamrup city :  25.46 and 26.49 North
Longitude of Kamrup city :  90.48 & 91.50 East

About Kamrup
The Present Assam was referred to as Kamrup in many of the ancient Indian literature. It was also known as Pragjyotishpur due to the astrology (Jyotish Shashtra) practices that prevailed in this part of the country during that time.

It was originally a district of British India, in the Brahmaputra valley division of Eastern Bengal and Assam. The headquarters was at Guwahati.
