About Katihar District
Katihar District was one of the Subdivisions of the old Purnea district and was bifurcated as a separate district on 2nd October, 1973.
Katihar is famous for Railway Junction. Katihar is the Junction of seven Railway lines/routes.
Katihar is also famous for ‘Goga Jheel Pakshi Vihar’ near the bank of Ganga in Amdabad Block of Manihari Sub-division.
Katihar is also famous for Jute Mills. There are two Jute Mills at Katihar. But, at present no Jute Mill is in working condition.
