Nagapattinam District is a coastal district of Tamil Nadu state. Nagapattinam Town is the district headquarters.
Geography of Nagapattinam
Nagapattinam District was formerly a part of Thanjavur District. The district boundary is shared by Karaikal, Tiruvarur, Tanjore and Cuddalore districts. It lies on the shores of the Bay of Bengal and has a large coastline of 141 km. Nagapattinam District has a dry humid climate
