Phek district has the 2026 sq km area. Phek is a district in the South-eastern part of Nagaland, bounded by Myanmar in the East side, Manipur state in the South side , Zunheboto and Tuensang districts in the North side and Kohima district in the West side .

Agriculture is the main main activity with 80.84 % of the population engaged in agriculture. Terrace Rice Cultivation (TRC) is predominant. Another occupation of the people is salt making (in Meluri area) weaving, bamboo and wood carving, and in making fruit juice.
