Pratapgarh district covers the 3717 Sq. Km. area. Pratapgarh is bounded on the north side by district Sultanpur, on the south side side by district Allahabad, on the west side by Fatehpur and on the east side by district Jaunpur and north-east by district Rae Bareli
Ganga forms the south-west boundary of the district for about 50 km. separating it from Fatehpur and Allhabad and in the extreme north-east the Gomti forms the boundary for about 6 km.
