Ratlam District is a district of Madhya Pradesh state in central India. Ratlam town is administrative headquarters of the district.

Ratlam is bounded by Mandsaur District in North side, Chhitorgarh and Banswara District of Rajasthan on the West side,  Jhabua and Dhar on the South side, Ujjain on the East side, Shajapur District of Madhya Pradesh and Jhalawar District of Rajasthan on the North side.Ratlam District has an area of 4,861 km²

About Ratlam
Ratlam District was created after Indian independence in 1947. In 1956, Madhya Bharat was merged into Madhya Pradesh state.Ratlam District was part of the new state of Madhya Bharat.
