Thoubal district is one of the district of Manipur state in northeastern India. Thoubal town is the district headquarters.

Thoubal district occupies an area of 519 km² . Thoubal district is bounded by Senapati district on the north side, Churchandpur and Bishnupur districts on the south side , Ukhrul and Chandel districts on the east side and Imphal West and Imphal East districts on the west side.

About Thoubal District
In May, 1983, Thoubal district came into existence with all its administrative units was transferred to form a new district. After, in November, 1983, Thoubal district was divided into Thoubal and Kakching sub-divisions comprising Kakching and Waikhong Tahsils.

Thoubal District is mainly inhabited by the Meiteis. Main festival of this district is Dola Jatra.Janmashtami, Durga Puja, Ningol Chakouba and Manipuri New Year day are the other festivals.

Agriculture is the main activity of this district. Paddy, mustard seeds, pulses are the main crops of this district. Other crops of this district is sugarcane, oilseeds, maize, potatoes, pulses, chilies, vegetable etc. Some people is engaged into Animal Husbandry and Fishing.
Important industry from the point of view of employment potential and volume of out put is the handloom and handicraft industry basis. Bed sheets,mosquito nets, Chadars, Phaneks, bamboo baskets, mats and other caneworks, fishing nets, furniture, carpentry products, pottery articles, etc.
