West Champaran is an administrative district in the state of Bihar in India. The district headquarters are located at Bettiah. It is a part of Tirhut Division.

West Champaran district is bounded by Hilly region of Nepal on north side, on south side it is bounded on Gopalganj & part of Purbi Champaran District, on east side it is bounded by Purbi champaran District and on west side it is bounded by Padrauna & Deoria District of Uttar Pradesh. Total Area of the West Champaran District is 5228 Sq. Kms.

West Champaran District was formed out of Champaran District in 1972. Initially, West Champaran District was a sub-division of Saran District and then Champaran District with its Head quarters as Bettiah.
