Dudhsagar Waterfall is located on the Mandovi River. From a distance, the waterfall appears like streams of milk rushing down the mountainside. The word Dudhsagar means "sea of milk" derives from clouds of milky foam which rises up at the bottom of the falls and the name of this waterfalls is evolves from the Konkani name for the falls. This is one of Goa’s most attractive and ideal picnic spots mainly offering charismatic natural beauty and amazing scenery when in full flow after the monsoons. The fall overlooks a steep, crescent-shaped edge of a valley covered with beautiful tropical forest.
Measuring a mighty 600m from head to foot, this waterfall on the Goa-Karnataka border, attracts a steady stream of visitors from the coast into the rugged Western Ghats. Main attraction of this waterfalls is trekking. For Trekking there are 4 possible trek routes to reach Dudhsagar Falls.

Legend About Waterfalls
The legend about this waterfalls is that a powerful and wealthy king who ruled a kingdom in the Western Ghats. King had a beautiful daughter, who used to enjoy taking a bath during the hot summers, in the picturesque lake near the forest. She loved and enjoyed bathing in a lake nearby and used to drink "sweetened milk" from her "golden jug" after finishing with her bath.
One day a prince watched her, when she enjoying her jug of milk. Embarassed by her inadequate bathing attire, the resourceful Princess poured the sugared milk in front of her to form an improvised curtain to hide her body, while one of the maids rushed to cover her with a dress. On this day it is that sweetened milk that cascades down the mountain slope as Dudhsagar Falls.
Best Time to Visit : You can visit this Waterfalls after the copious monsoon. Between April To September avoid to visit Dudhsagar Waterfall.
