About Festival
Ganga Puja is a festival of the rice celebrated after Navanna. This is one the important tribal festival .Ganga, is one of the fourteen deities of the state of Tripura . All the people of the community gather by the stream side and whittle three piece of bamboo in the form of beautiful flowers. 4 to 5 tribal villages construct a temple in the middle of the river. Temple is constructed with bamboo and then the rituals are carried on.
It is believed that if God is offered sacrifice of buffaloes, goats and ganders he would save people from any epidemic.Each Tribal family contributed the expenditure of the Ganga Puja
