Machhi ka Salan

मछी का सालन

Ingredients (सामग्री)

Fish (मछली) ---------- 500 gms (cut into slices)

Grated coconut (कसा हुआ नारियल) ---------- 1 smallspoon

White Sesame (सफेद तिल) ---------- 2 smallspoon 

Coriander powder (धनिया पाउडर) ---------- 2 smallspoon 

Mustard seeds (सरसों के बीज) ---------- 1 smallspoon 

Cumin seeds (जीरा) ---------- 1 smallspoon 

Poppy seed (खसखस) ---------- 2 smallspoon 

Turmeric Powder (हल्दी पाउडर) ---------- 1/2 smallspoon 

Chilli powder (मिर्च पाउडर) ---------- 2 smallspoon 

Green chilies (हरी मिर्च) ---------- 2 

Oil (तेल) ---------- 3-4 tablespoon 

Finely sliced onion (बारीक़ कटा हुआ प्याज) ---------- 1 

Curry leaves (करी पत्ते) ---------- 2- 3 

Tamarind (इमली) ---------- 2 tablespoon

Salt (नमक) ---------- To taste

Coconut milk (नारियल का दूध) ---------- 2 Cups

How to make Machhi ka Salan (मछी का सालन बनाने की विधि)

-> For making the masala, combine the Grated coconut (कसा हुआ नारियल) + Cumin seeds (जीरा) + Mustard seeds (सरसों के बीज) + Poppy seed (खसखस) + White Sesame (सफेद तिल) and mixed it. (कसा हुआ नारियल + जीरा + सरसों के बीज + खसखस + सफेद तिल को मिक्सी में पीस ले)

-> You also add the Chilli powder (मिर्च पाउडर) + Coriander powder (धनिया पाउडर) and mix it and Blend altogether to make a smooth paste and keep aside. (अब इसमें मिर्च पाउडर + धनिया पाउडर मिला कर दुबारा से पीस ले)

-> Now soak the Tamarind (इमली) in 1 cup of water (पानी) for 15 minutes, extract the pulp (गूदा) and keep aside. (इमली को पानी में भिगो कर रखे और इसके गूदे को अलग रख दे)

-> Heat the Oil (तेल) in a non-stick pan. When Oil (तेल) became hot then add the sliced onion (कटा हुआ प्याज) and fried it till onion (प्याज) turns to golden brown in color. (तेल + प्याज फ्राई करे)

-> Now you add  ground masala paste (पीसा मसाला पेस्ट) and stir in for few minutes till the oil separates. (अब इसमें पीसा मसाला पेस्ट मिला कर फ्राई करे)

-> Now you add the slices of fish (मछली की स्लाइस) and fry for few minutes. Now you add Coconut milk (नारियल का दूध) and mix it. (अब इसमें मछली की स्लाइस + मछली की स्लाइस मिलाए और पकाये)

-> Finally add tamarind pulp (इमली का गूदा) + Curry leaves (करी पत्ते) + Salt (नमक) and mixed it and cooked it on the medium flame gas till the gravy thickens. (अब इसमें इमली का गूदा + करी पत्ते + नमक मिला कर पकाये)

-> Machhi ka Salan (मछी का सालन) is ready. Sprinkle the Grated coconut (कसा हुआ नारियल) and serve hot with roti (रोटी) or jeera rice (जीरा चावल). (कसे हुये नारियल से सजाये और रोटी और जीरा चावल से परोसे)
