Murgh Methi Kofta

मुर्ग मेथी कोफ्ता

Ingredients (सामग्री)

Minced Chicken (कीमा बनाया हुआ चिकन) ---------- 250 grams

Roasted and powdered Kasoori methi (कसूरी मेथी, भुनी हुई और पाउडर) ---------- 2 1/2 tablespoons + to sprinkle

Oil (तेल) ---------- 2 tablespoons

Bay leaf (बे पत्ती) ---------- 1

Cinnamon (दालचीनी) ---------- 1 inch stick

Green cardamoms (हरी इलायची) ---------- 2

Cumin seeds (जीरा) ---------- 1/2 smallspoon

Grated Onions (कसा हुआ प्याज) ---------- 2 medium

Green chillies (हरी मिर्च) ---------- 2

Roughly chopped Ginger (मोटा कटा हुआ अदरक) ---------- 1 inch piece

Roughly chopped Garlic (मोटा कटा हुआ लहसुन) ---------- 7-8 cloves

Soaked Cashewnuts (भिगे काजू) ---------- 5-6

Salt (नमक) ---------- To taste

Turmeric powder (हल्दी पाउडर) ---------- 1/4 smallspoon

Coriander powder (धनिया पाउडर) ---------- 1 tablespoon

Red chilli powder (लाल मिर्च पाउडर) ---------- 1 smallspoon

Cashewnut paste (काजू पेस्ट) ---------- 2 tablespoons

Yogurt (दही) ---------- 1/2 cup

Red capsicum,thin strips (लाल शिमला मिर्च, पतली स्ट्रिप्स) 8 - 10 

How to make Murgh Methi Kofta (मुर्ग मेथी कोफ्ता बनाने की विधि)

-> First heat the Oil (तेल) in a non stick pan. When Oil (तेल) became hot then add Bay leaf (बे पत्ती) + Cinnamon (दालचीनी) + Cumin seeds (जीरा) + Green cardamoms (हरी इलायची) and fried it for 1 minute. (तेल + बे पत्ती + दालचीनी + जीरा + हरी इलायची को फ्राई करे)

-> Now you add Grated Onions (कसा हुआ प्याज) and fried it until Onions (प्याज) turns to Soft  but not brown. (इसमें कसा हुआ प्याज डाले और सॉफ्ट होने तक भुने)

-> In a chopper take Green chillies (हरी मिर्च) + Roughly chopped Ginger (मोटा कटा हुआ अदरक) + Roughly chopped Garlic (मोटा कटा हुआ लहसुन) + Chicken (चिकन) + Soaked Cashewnuts (भिगे काजू) and make a mixture. Now you add 1 smallspoon Kasoori methi (कसूरी मेथी) and again chop it. Transfer the Chicken mixture (चिकन मिश्रण) into a bowl. (हरी मिर्च + अदरक + लहसुन + चिकन + भिगे काजू + कसूरी मेथी को चॉपर में चोप कर ले, चिकन मिश्रण तैयार है)

-> When Onions (प्याज) turns to Soft then add Turmeric powder (हल्दी पाउडर) + Coriander powder (धनिया पाउडर) + Red chilli powder (लाल मिर्च पाउडर) + Cashewnut paste (काजू पेस्ट)  + Yogurt (दही) and mixed very well and cooked for 1 - 2 minute. (जब प्याज सॉफ्ट हो जाये तो इसमें हल्दी पाउडर + धनिया पाउडर + धनिया पाउडर + काजू पेस्ट + दही मिला कर पकाये)

-> Now you add 2 tablespoon Kasoori methi (कसूरी मेथी) + enough water to get the desired consistency. Cover and cook for 2 minutes. (इसमें कसूरी मेथी + पानी मिला कर पकाए)

-> With dampened hands shape the Chicken mixture (चिकन मिश्रण) into balls and add to the gravy. Now you add Salt (नमक). Cover and cook on low heat for 10-15 minutes or till both chicken and gravy are cooked. (चिकन मिश्रण की छोटी छोटी बॉल बनाकर ग्रेवी में डाले और ढक कर पकाये)

-> Murgh Methi Kofta (मुर्ग मेथी कोफ्ता) is ready. Transfer into serving bowl, sprinkle some dried fenugreek powder, garnish with thin strips of red capsicum and serve hot.
