About Neendakara Port
Neendakara is a tiny village and it is situated about 9 km north of Kollam city in Kerala, India. Neendakara is headquartered of Indo-Norwegian Fisheries Community Project. This Project was started in year 1953. It is also famous for its Fishing Harbour and related Marine export oriented businesses and other marine activities. Main activities under this project include the establishment of a boat building yard at Sakthikulangara and setting up of a Fishermen Training Institute. The capacity of Neendakara Port, is to contain 500 fishing boats at a time. Surrounding location of the port is offers an excellent view of adjoining bridge.
The view of sundet at Neendakara Port is very picturesque and magnificent. At time of sunset it draws many visitors from all over South India or world. Visitor can also enjoy the delightful sight of Ashtamudi Lake.
