Rakhidumni or Rakhi Festival is celebrated on the full moon day in the monsoon month of Bhadrapad (August - September), Rakhadumni festival is celebrated.

About Festival
Rakhadumni is also Raksha Bandhan festival or Rakhi festival in Himachal Pradesh.On the festival day married sisters visit their father's house on this day and tie the sacred rakhi around their brother's wrists.Thread of rakhi symbolizes the bond of love. After she received warmly and presented with gifts of money and clothes.The family priests also go to the houses of their patrons (yajman) and tie rakhi on their wrists, thus blessing them.That women who have no brother tie rakhi to other villagers and make a new brother.

 

Rakhi threads remain on the wrist of the brother for a whole month and when the Sairi festival comes at the end of the month they are removed and offered to Mother Sairi.
