Sri Raghavapuram Temple is also known as Hanumarambalam by the local people of Kannur. This is the most important temple of Hanuman in the Malabar area of Kerala.
Location : Sri Raghavapuram Temple is located at a small village Cheruthazham of Payyannur and about 35 km from the town of Kannur.

Sri Raghavapuram Temple is renowned temple in Kollam district. It is one of the few temples in Kerala which where Lord Hanuman is worshipped. Main deity of this temple is Sri Rama , Hanuman.
Though the main temple is of Rama, people believed that Hanuman temple is more important and it is generally believed that devotion and worshipping Hanuman would only please Lord Rama, Due to this reason the temple is called “Hanumarambalam (Temple of Hanuman).
In this temple Brahmin priests perform a ritualistic dance and dance is known as Thidambu Nritham. In Thidambu Nritham dance they kept the idols of their head. It is the uniqueness of this temple
History of this temple :
According to history, Udaya Varman Kolathiri, an ancient king who rules the Kannur region, was built this temple. When this temple was complete the king invited the 237 Brahmin families and the temple was given to these scholarly families.
