About Thevally Palace
During the reign of Gauri Parvathi Bai from 1811 to 1819, Thevally Palace was buit. Thevally palace was used by the kings for meetings with the British officials. Thevally Palace served as the residence of the Maharaja of Travancore whenever he used to visit Kollam for his meetings. This palace has its own romantic affinity as the palace itself tells a legendary love story of a British resident who lived across the lake with a noble ady from the palace.
Now a day this palace is currently occupied by the army and Public Works Department (PWD)
Design of this Palace
This Palace was built in Dutch, mixture of British and Portuguese styles. This palace, made of lime plaster and laterite, delight the beholders boundlessly. This is a wonderful heritage builting that attract many tourist from all over the world.
