In year 1847 this lighthouse was erected in Thikkoti Village. The hight of this lighthouse is 33.5m. There is a very aggravating history concerned to the Thikkoti Light House. Surrounding location of lighthouse is rocky. That gives an excellent view of Velliyamkallu Rock to travelers or tourists. Velliyamkallu is a giantlike rock formation in the Arabian Sea. The view of Velliyamkallu is magnificent and it also acts as a seasonal home to many varieties of migrant birds. Here tourist can delight the birdwatching.

Myth behind of Lighthouse : Thikkoti Light House was constructed on the shambles of a shipwreck that was from a boat that crashed near the rocky shore of the beach. So that Thikkoti Lighthouse is a symbol of that accident.The ruins of that ill-fated ship can still be seen here today.
