Thommankuthu is a very graceful waterfall near Thodupuzha, in the southern state of Kerala, India. Thommankuthu Falls is named after Thommachen, a tribal leader, who fell into this waterfall while crossing the river. He was the great hunter and he also played a big part in the discovery of the site for the Idukki Dam. This amazing tourist destination is located in the deep forest of the Idukki district.
Thommankuthu Falls is a 1500 m waterfall and many tourists come here to see this delectable waterfall and the scenic backdrop. Thommankuthu waterfall comprises of seven steps along with cascades down from a height of 1500 m. So that this waterfall is always called the 7 steps waterfall. It is an ideal spot for adventurous activities including trekking and rock climbing.
